The Spring Collection

It’s that time once again! Where Whole Self Care launches yet another seasonal collection. I have a lot of fun coming up with the scents that speak to the vibes I want to curate for the coming season. So here’s the skinny on our Feminine & Free collection…

I allow myself to be pampered | Vetiver, Ylang Ylang, & Sandalwood

This blend doubles as a limited edition Essentials Collection feature since it’s created solely from essential oils. Ylang Ylang by itself reminds me of a day well spent at a high end spa. The instant relaxation and release is something I wanted to encourage so I paired it with the strength of Vetiver to give have an element that lingers on the skin and the grounding of effects of Sandalwood. Together this blend has a richness and warmth that truly lends itself to relaxing spa-like experience right in the comfort of your home. AND for a fraction of the cost!

The name was born out the spa reference. It’s important that we make space for our care and attention. Pampering is often relegated to being frivolous and unimportant. I chose the words carefully. You deserve to be pampered no matter how ostentatious it may feel. Your care is not a luxury, it’s a requirement. Allow yourself to receive it in every way you can.

I honor the women who’ve come before me | Vetiver, Florals, & Vanilla

This blend is exactly what it’s named; my way of honoring the women who’ve come before me. I wanted to share a small piece of my lineage by combining our favorite flowers. Me and the Wisteria I fell in love with at my first apartment. My mother and the Moonflowers she so lovingly grows. Her mother and the Magnolias that always put a smile on her face. Together they created a garden of deep roots and fresh blooms but I couldn’t stop there! I added the Vetiver again, this time using the fragrance oil instead of the essential, because it’s a touch softer than it’s all-natural counterpart. This offered the body I needed as well as bridge between the different scents in the collection. Finally the sweet and familiar scent of Vanilla really rounded this out; giving any line of strong, beautiful women something to hold on to as they’re whisked away into my own personal Garden of Eden. The result is a classic floral bouquet with a modern twist, a scent that every generation will enjoy.

The name speaks for itself though I want to highlight the importance of the message. In honoring the women that have come before you, you shift your lifestyle. You do what they couldn’t. You embrace what connects you. You heal in every way they need you to. While you are writing your own story you’re also continuing theirs. As you do for you, you do for them. Give them their flowers while their here and don’t forget to do the same for you.

I live to inspire my inner child | Sunflowers, Milk & Honey

This scent kinda formed itself. After countless hits of various aromas I was spent on bright ideas. At some point I figured I could just put random things together to see what could be. Some were hits and many were misses but there was something about this blend that stuck with me. After a few tweaks I landed on my simplest concoction this collection. The grassiness of the sunflower mixed with the creamy sweetness of the Milk & Honey crafted a blend that is truly carefree. I was instantly transported to a summers day outside (allllll day) where there’s nothing but hot sun, grass stains, and sweet refreshing hose water. Ahh those were the days.

When naming this scent I thought of the Promised Land rich with Milk & Honey and I reflected on the time in my life when those promises were clearest; certainly when I was a child. The thought of fields of sky high, bright yellow sunflowers put a big ol’ smile on my face AND a little giggle so I couldn’t help but think again of child-like joy! My inner child was buzzing while we created this blend and I wanted to pass that feeling on to you. Tap into your memories. Or create new ones! Let yourself embrace your greatest childhood talent; your imagination. From there feel into the scene. Don’t shy away from exaggerated proportions or unlikely scenarios, we not here for that! Just enjoy the ride and the vibes. When it’s time to step back into reality bring that with you. Bring the joy and wonder and freedom to create with you. Use it to infuse your work with fantasy. Let your inner child inspire you so that in every way you live from that moment on, you can inspire your inner child.

My hope is that in sharing my thoughts and intention behind each scent, you’ll better connect with the ones that work best for you or whoever you’re gifting to.
